We sat down with Beth Gibson of the Gibson Home Team - Kansas City, to hear how Beth built her real estate career from a one-person operation into a thriving team and why Worth Clark Realty is her brokerage of choice.
Q. What made you first realize you wanted to be a Realtor®?
A. My personal experiences have put me as a buyer, seller, landlord, and tenant of more than 16 personal real estate transactions, providing a true insight into the small things and personalities that can make or break a great deal and a great real estate experience. When our family returned to the KC-area after living overseas, I realized that I truly enjoy the real estate industry. I realized what I liked about our personal real estate experiences and what I knew could be improved, so I took the leap to become a Realtor®! With more than $10 million in transaction value and growing, it was the best career decision of my life! I get to work with a great team and amazing clients every day, doing what I love!
Q. What has been your biggest challenge so far and the biggest reward being a Realtor®?
A. Recent low inventory continues to challenge our buyers, forcing them to view and make offers that can stretch their comfort zones of both time and budget. The biggest reward is seeing the happiness of our clients, and knowing that we have been a small part of a very big step in their lives, either buying a dream home or selling at a value that enables them to take their next step.
Q. What would you say to someone considering becoming a part-time or full-time Realtor®?
A. Becoming a Realtor® is not only a career but is a lifestyle that is unmatched. If you enjoy working with people and numbers and have a service-first approach, you can enjoy the benefits of building your own business.
Q. You’ve successfully grown your personal brand into a thriving team, what would you say to other Realtors® who are looking to do the same?
A. Make sure it’s a win/win for everyone! We are all at different stages in life and we all have different priorities. Some people need supplemental income and flexibility, and some want a full-time professional career development opportunity. Within our team, we have both, and we have found this balance by listening to the needs and dreams of agents before we onboard and continue to develop with them along their personal journey.
Q. What first grabbed your attention about WCR/why did you start considering a move to WCR?
A. Lower broker fees, professional tools, and resources for our team and our clients.
Q. Why did you choose WCR vs. other brokerages?
A. I began my search for a new broker and my move to WCR by looking for reduced broker fees. However, as I learned more about WCR, the resources offered, and WCR’s focus on growth through client-service, I began to know that WCR would become my new broker. When I was presented with an opportunity to participate in the Agent Ownership Program, the deal was done! With other brokerages, I was and would be paying for a lot of services that I don’t need. Reducing fees and having an ownership opportunity at WCR makes financial sense for me.
Q. What tool(s) attracted you to WCR?
A. The KV Core Platform and our Back-Office platform provides all the tools in one place for our team. Also, being able to continue using Dotloop to complete my transactions made for a seamless and efficient transition.
Q. What would you say to agents who are considering joining WCR?
A. It’s an easy and smart move! The WCR team provided great support in our transition and we didn’t miss a step with our clients.
